Medical Sites that got (are getting) me through Medical school….

First Year:

  1. Anatomy
      1. By far one of the most comprehensive sites for anatomy on the web. I pretty much swore by this site while taking anatomy and just by watching the dissection video's daily before heading to lab and going through the practice questions along with case studies I scored extremely well in this class. Anatomy is a visual class so by opening Netter's and going through the questions (including the wrong ones) on this site you will definitely be a couple of steps ahead of the curve with regards to what your going to be tested on. I can honestly say this site saved my anatomy grade by leaps and bounds.
      1. An amazing site to learn how to read an X-ray's complete with quizzes and tons of information. A must use for an student in anatomy or taking physical diagnosis
      1. Loyola Master Muscle list is a great site for those who love "memorizing" anatomy. Personally I used this site while I was using Michigan Anatomy in order to visual the pictures. I mean Netter's is great but it's like looking at a where's Waldo picture sometimes.
  2. Biochemistry
      1. A solidly written site on the intricacies of biochemistry. I didn't use this site too much because Lippincott Biochemistry might be one of the best books as far as a concise comprehensive review of biochemistry. It should be sufficient for regular class as well as in preparation for USMLE step 1.
  3. Histology
    1. Histology Sucks….next please
    2. Seriously it's the lowest yield tested on step 1 and I figure what Ive learned through path, physio and embryo should be good enough.
    3. http://www.meddean.luc.edu/lumen/meded/Histo/frames/histo_frames.html
    4. http://www.kumc.edu/instruction/medicine/anatomy/histoweb/index.htm
      1. Didn't use either of these two much but checking them out I probably should have as they have been recommend by many students to me…
  4. Embryology
      1. Really brings embryology to life in a visual sense. Great information along with awesome videos. This supplement with Moore's embryology books is the road to success
  5. Physiology
      1. Great overview and a place to start
      1. Awesome animations and great place to learn about heart sounds
      1. A nice slowed down view of heart sounds
      1. A nice dummies guide to respiratory physiology from John's Hopkins University
  6. Behavioral Science
    1. If you have problems in this class see a psychiatrist….

Second Year:

  1. Pathology
      1. By far the best FREE question and answer site on the web filled with pictures and tutorial well worth doing. Between reading Robbins, doing the Robbins questions and webpath you should rail pathology
      1. I swear by this guy and wish he was my teacher along with Goljan instead of the jackass we have teaching at our school. Supplement this reading with Robbins and your good to go.
      1. From Pathguy again but this time a review of GENERAL PATHOLOGY
      1. I told you I sweated him….review of SYSTEMIC PATHOLOGY
  2. Microbiology
      1. A good place to read for reviewing specific topics
      1. For the micro enthusiast
  3. Physical Diagnosis
      1. Great videos to learn how to perform exams
  4. Pharmacology
      1. Really a must use for any pharm student with great tutorial on ALL SUBJECTS in Pharm along with comprehensive questions and tests
      1. A more visual site a good supplement but I rarely used this one

That's about it from my end hope these links are helpful and gl. If you have more that you'd like me to add please feel free to email me at raveen (dot) shenoi (at) gmail.com.

You may have found histology a little less suckworthy if you had tried histology-online.com
